Thoughts

A memory I had with Nana was when we used to draw together. It is a special moment because when I draw her something she always draws and gives me a picture back. Also I love drawing with her because she gives me courage when I think I can't draw or think I'm bad at it. She and I always laugh when we draw something funny. I have a great time with her a lot but this was a very special moment we had together.

The thing I remember most about Nana was how she spoiled us in many ways. First, she would always take us to Chuck-E-Cheese's or the mall to let us eat our favorite food. Next, she would always bring us candy or crackers every time she would come to visit. Lastly, she would take us to stores and let us choose what we want. I also remember that Nana was very nice and humorous. I remember one time when I was down, Nana came over and handed me a piece of lumpia. I laughed and got up so I could finish it in the kitchen. It was a shock when Nana passed away. All the memories are almost washed away. But I will never forget her and I will tell Jaysen all the memories I have of her. I love my Nana.

Although Jaysen only knew his Lola for a very short time, we feel that he still has a close connection with her. On the day his Lola would pass away, Jaysen was inconsolable the entire afternoon; he would not stop crying and could not be comforted. Literally five minutes before Lola died, Jaysen stopped crying, became very silent, and began staring around the room. He would not cry the rest of the night. Throughout his first year of life, Jaysen would constantly be looking around our family room until his eyes would lock on "something" in the direction of the top of the stairs. We believe he was seeing his Lola. Now, Jaysen points to pictures of Cora and says "Nana", which is the name given to her by Jakob and Jordyn.
